Drain hoses for continuous drainage

A continuous drain is a fitting that matches the port, and a hose that falls the whole way to a floor drain, a sump, or a sink. Length is the second decision. Thread is the first. Specs below were read from the live Amazon listings on November 6, 2026. Prices stay on Amazon.

The port is the high point. Every foot of hose after it should be lower, with the open end above the water line so air can leave.

Match the thread, then measure the fall

Many portable dehumidifiers use a 3/4-inch garden-hose thread, the same female connector these listings call FHT. Some use a smaller barb, and some hide the port behind a rubber cap or a plastic knockout. Look at the fitting your manual names. The seller's word "most brands" is a claim. A review on the Boombamo family page says the hose did not fit that owner's unit.

Measure the path the hose will actually take, including the curve off the back of the cabinet. Buy the shortest listed length that covers that path with a little slack. Spare hose sags into a belly, fills, and sends water back into the bucket. The Trazico includes about 4.9 feet. That is enough when the drain is beside the unit. The hOmeLabs 50-pint and the GE ADHE50BWF have a gravity port and do not include a hose. The Eva-Dry has no hose port at all.

Hand-tighten the connector. The plastic port is the part that cracks if you lean on it with pliers. Leave the open end in the drain, above standing water, and clip it so it cannot flip onto the floor. On many portables the bucket still has to sit in the unit so the float reads empty. The hose bypasses the chore of carrying water. It does not bypass that switch.

Both brands say the hose can be cut to length. Cut the plain end. The threaded fitting has to stay on the dehumidifier. A cut hose is still a gravity hose. If the only drain is uphill, stop and look at a pump model. GE and Midea sell pump versions under different model numbers from the ones reviewed here.

What the listings claim, and what owners argue about

Titles on both brands say leakproof, leak-free, or perfectly compatible. Those are selling lines. On November 6, 2026 the Boombamo variation pages for 5, 8, 13, 20, 26, and 30 ft each showed 4.4 from 317 ratings. That count is shared across the family, so it is not 317 reviews of the 26 ft brass fitting alone. Amazon's summary of those comments groups leakage as mixed: some owners report a dry fitting, and the grouped comments include more leak complaints than leak-free ones. Fit comments are mostly positive, with a few misses.

The EOUOBOMO 5 ft page, ASIN B0F9PJQMG3, showed 4.2 from 105 ratings the same day. One review there says the hose fit an hOmeLabs HME020006N. That is a different model from the HME031003N we review. Another review says the hose fit and still leaked and did not drain. We did not reprint ratings for the other EOUOBOMO lengths, because each variation page can carry its own count. Open the length you want and read it there.

Outside diameter is not the thread size. A 3/4-inch FHT is the connector. Several pages also list an outside diameter of 0.75 inches, and the Boombamo 13 ft page lists 0.88 inches. Use the thread to decide if it will screw on. Use the length to decide if it will reach. The Boombamo bullets name five lengths (5, 8, 13, 20, and 30 ft) while the size menu shows six, including 26 ft, and the title says seven options. The EOUOBOMO 5 ft page lists seven lengths that do line up: 5, 8, 13, 16.5, 20, 26, and 30 ft. Its bullets say PVC, a female threaded connector, a rubber gasket, and sealing tape.

The family bullets describe a female 3/4-inch connector, PVC, a rubber gasket, and sealing tape.

Checked November 6, 2026. A listing can change the size menu without notice. If the title and the product-information length disagree, believe the size option you select and check the package when it arrives. The buying guide covers when a hose is worth it, and when the job needs a pump instead.

Questions people ask

Will a garden hose drain a dehumidifier?

Only when the dehumidifier port is a 3/4-inch hose thread and the whole run falls toward the drain. A garden hose is often stiffer than a short drain hose, so it is easier to leave a high spot. A smooth barb, or a knockout you were supposed to punch out, needs the fitting in the manual. Forcing hose thread onto the wrong port cracks the plastic.

Does a longer hose let the water go uphill?

No. These are gravity hoses. Extra length does not add pressure. If the sink or the window is above the drain port, you need a dehumidifier with a condensate pump, or a separate pump made for that job. The machines in our main lineup that lack a pump still lack one after you attach 30 feet of hose.

The Boombamo 5 ft page also says 30 feet. Which length arrives?

On November 6, 2026 the title and the size option said 5 ft, and the product-information table on that same page said item length 30 feet. Select the length in the size menu and read the title of the ASIN you open. The 8, 13, 20, 26, and 30 ft pages we opened had item lengths that matched their titles.

Can I use one of these on a portable air conditioner?

Only if that air conditioner has a 3/4-inch threaded drain. Many portable units use a small barb or a different fitting. The listing copy mentions air-conditioner drainage. Match the outlet on your unit before you treat the hose as a universal AC part.
